Ok, so I've added support in the First Run Script for PS1 games. Right now, if you insert such a game, you'll just get a message box telling you to install the emulator. Here's how to do that:
Like many things in the world of OpenExtreme, these file and folder locations are hard coded. Follow these instructions exactly.
First, download ePSXe 1.70. A google search will take you to it. Install it and any plug-ins you may have downloaded. There are good guides online and on youtube to tell you how to do this.
Then, MOVE all the files to a folder called C:\OpenExtreme\EPSXE
In here should be a folder called epsxe170. In that folder should be all the other folders and files to run ePSXe.
By the way, you'll need a BIOS file too. To get it, you have to dump one from your PSX. You may be able to find one elsewhere if you look hard enough.
That should do it. The script launches C:\OpenExtreme\EPSXE\epsxe170\epsxe.exe, so make sure your executable is located there. You'll need to go through the initial set up and configure your gamepad. An Xbox 360 controller for Windows works great (same button layout).
That's basically it. As long as you have the program files in that location exactly and are running the same version exactly, it should work.
If you're curious, it determines that it's a Playstation disc by the presence of a single file. It determines if it's a PS1 or PS2 disc by the creation date of that file. Too old, it's a PS1 game. Too new, it's a PS2 game. However, there is significant overlap on the dates where both systems had games released. In these cases, you will be prompted to select which system to start.
